Flights from Newcastle to Barcelona
Although you can't get a direct flight direct from Newcastle to Barcelona you can at least fly to Girona, some 70 miles north of Barcelona.
Air Scotland has been operating flights from Newcastle to Girona this summer, although they finish at the end of October.
However, the really great news though is that Ryanair will be flying to Girona from Newcastle from March 2007 onwards. This means you have an excellent opportunity to visit Barcelona in the spring, before it gets too hot, and before the football season ends.
Although it's not as convenient as flying direct to Barcelona, it's easy to get from Girona to Barcelona and Ryanair do have a bus service that will take you to the centre of Barcelona for a few Euros.
