"La Pedrera" - Gaudí's Casa Milà

Casa Milà, built at the beginning of the 20th century, is often known as "La Pedrera" - the quarry - as people of the time though that was what it resembled rather then great architecture.
A
popular tourist attraction, the building is still in use as an apartment
building, although one of the apartments is open as a museum.
Inside there is also a display showing how Gaudí designed the weird geometries of his buildings, using little more than string and lead weights and the roof and its impressive show of chimneys is also accessible. In the summer the roof is open to cava tastings, where you can marvel at the view of Barcelona from one of the most memorable buildings in the city.
